അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു: എന്റെ രക്ഷിതാവേ, തീര്ച്ചയായും ഞാന് എന്നോട് തന്നെ അന്യായം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു. അതിനാല് നീ എനിക്ക് പൊറുത്തുതരേണമേ. അപ്പോള് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് അവന് പൊറുത്തുകൊടുത്തു. തീര്ച്ചയായും അവന് ഏറെ പൊറുക്കുന്നവനും കരുണാനിധിയുമാകുന്നു.(16)
(16) قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي فَغَفَرَ لَهُ ۚ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ
He said: "My Lord! Verily, I have wronged myself, so forgive me." Then He forgave him. Verily, He is the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.(16)
