(അല്ലാഹുവോട്) പങ്കാളികളെ ചേര്ത്തവര് പറഞ്ഞു: അല്ലാഹു ഉദ്ദേശിച്ചിരുന്നുവെങ്കില് ഞങ്ങളോ ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോ അവന്നു പുറമെ യാതൊന്നിനെയും ആരാധിക്കുമായിരുന്നില്ല. അവന്റെ കല്പന കൂടാതെ ഞങ്ങള് യാതൊന്നും നിഷിദ്ധമാക്കുകയും ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു. അത് പോലെത്തന്നെ അവര്ക്കു മുമ്പുള്ളവരും ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. എന്നാല് ദൈവദൂതന്മാരുടെ മേല് സ്പഷ്ടമായ പ്രബോധനമല്ലാതെ വല്ല ബാധ്യതയുമുണ്ടോ ?(35)
(35) وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا لَوْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ مَا عَبَدْنَا مِنْ دُونِهِ مِنْ شَيْءٍ نَحْنُ وَلَا آبَاؤُنَا وَلَا حَرَّمْنَا مِنْ دُونِهِ مِنْ شَيْءٍ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ فَعَلَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ فَهَلْ عَلَى الرُّسُلِ إِلَّا الْبَلَاغُ الْمُبِينُ
And those who join others in worship with Allah say: "If Allah had so willed, neither we nor our fathers would have worshipped aught but Him, nor would we have forbidden anything without (Command from) Him." So did those before them. Then! Are the Messengers charged with anything but to convey clearly the Message?(35)
