ഞങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പുള്ള രണ്ട് വിഭാഗങ്ങള്ക്ക് മാത്രമേ വേദഗ്രന്ഥം അവതരിപ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുള്ളൂ. അവര് വായിച്ചുപഠിച്ചു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നതിനെപ്പറ്റി ഞങ്ങള് തീര്ത്തും ധാരണയില്ലാത്തവരായിരുന്നു എന്ന് നിങ്ങള് പറഞ്ഞേക്കാം എന്നതിനാലാണ് (ഇതവതരിപ്പിച്ചത്.)(156)
(156) أَنْ تَقُولُوا إِنَّمَا أُنْزِلَ الْكِتَابُ عَلَىٰ طَائِفَتَيْنِ مِنْ قَبْلِنَا وَإِنْ كُنَّا عَنْ دِرَاسَتِهِمْ لَغَافِلِينَ
Lest you (pagan Arabs) should say: "The Book was only sent down to two sects before us (the Jews and the Christians), and for our part, we were in fact unaware of what they studied."(156)
