അങ്ങനെ അവര്‍ കരാര്‍ ലംഘിച്ചതിന്‍റെ ഫലമായി നാം അവരെ ശപിക്കുകയും, അവരുടെ മനസ്സുകളെ നാം കടുത്തതാക്കിത്തീര്‍ക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. വേദവാക്യങ്ങളെ അവയുടെ സ്ഥാനങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്ന്‌ അവര്‍ തെറ്റിക്കുന്നു. അവര്‍ക്ക്‌ ഉല്‍ബോധനം നല്‍കപ്പെട്ടതില്‍ ഒരു ഭാഗം അവര്‍ മറന്നുകളയുകയും ചെയ്തു. അവര്‍ - അല്‍പം ചിലരൊഴികെ - നടത്തിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന വഞ്ചന (മേലിലും) നീ കണ്ടുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കും. എന്നാല്‍ അവര്‍ക്ക്‌ നീ മാപ്പുനല്‍കുകയും അവരോട്‌ വിട്ടുവീഴ്ച കാണിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുക. നല്ല നിലയില്‍ വര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്നവരെ തീര്‍ച്ചയായും അല്ലാഹു ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടും.(13)
(13) فَبِمَا نَقْضِهِمْ مِيثَاقَهُمْ لَعَنَّاهُمْ وَجَعَلْنَا قُلُوبَهُمْ قَاسِيَةً ۖ يُحَرِّفُونَ الْكَلِمَ عَنْ مَوَاضِعِهِ ۙ وَنَسُوا حَظًّا مِمَّا ذُكِّرُوا بِهِ ۚ وَلَا تَزَالُ تَطَّلِعُ عَلَىٰ خَائِنَةٍ مِنْهُمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا مِنْهُمْ ۖ فَاعْفُ عَنْهُمْ وَاصْفَحْ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُحْسِنِينَ
So because of their breach of their covenant, We cursed them, and made their hearts grow hard. They change the words from their (right) places and have abandoned a good part of the Message that was sent to them. And you will not cease to discover deceit in them, except a few of them. But forgive them, and overlook (their misdeeds). Verily, Allah loves Al-Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112).(13)
