അവര് പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നത് ഇപ്രകാരം മാത്രമായിരുന്നു: ഞങ്ങളുടെ രക്ഷിതാവേ, ഞങ്ങളുടെ പാപങ്ങളും, ഞങ്ങളുടെ കാര്യങ്ങളില് വന്നുപോയ അതിക്രമങ്ങളും ഞങ്ങള്ക്ക് നീ പൊറുത്തുതരേണമേ. ഞങ്ങളുടെ കാലടികള് നീ ഉറപ്പിച്ചു നിര്ത്തുകയും, സത്യനിഷേധികളായ ജനതക്കെതിരില് ഞങ്ങളെ നീ സഹായിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യേണമേ.(147)
(147) وَمَا كَانَ قَوْلَهُمْ إِلَّا أَنْ قَالُوا رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَإِسْرَافَنَا فِي أَمْرِنَا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَانْصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ
And they said nothing but: "Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and our transgressions (in keeping our duties to You), establish our feet firmly, and give us victory over the disbelieving folk."(147)
