അല്ലാഹു ഒരു രാജ്യത്തെ ഉപമയായി എടുത്തുകാണിക്കുകയാകുന്നു. അത് സുരക്ഷിതവും ശാന്തവുമായിരുന്നു. അതിലെ ആവശ്യത്തിനുള്ള ഭക്ഷണം എല്ലായിടത്തുനിന്നും സമൃദ്ധമായി അവിടെ എത്തിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കും. എന്നിട്ട് ആ രാജ്യം അല്ലാഹുവിന്റെ അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ നിഷേധിച്ചു. അപ്പോള് അവര് പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ച് കൊണ്ടിരുന്നത് നിമിത്തം വിശപ്പിന്റെയും ഭയത്തിന്റെയും ഉടുപ്പ് അല്ലാഹു ആ രാജ്യത്തിന് അനുഭവിക്കുമാറാക്കി.(112)
(112) وَضَرَبَ اللَّهُ مَثَلًا قَرْيَةً كَانَتْ آمِنَةً مُطْمَئِنَّةً يَأْتِيهَا رِزْقُهَا رَغَدًا مِنْ كُلِّ مَكَانٍ فَكَفَرَتْ بِأَنْعُمِ اللَّهِ فَأَذَاقَهَا اللَّهُ لِبَاسَ الْجُوعِ وَالْخَوْفِ بِمَا كَانُوا يَصْنَعُونَ
And Allah puts forward the example of a township (Makkah), that dwelt secure and well content; its provision coming to it in abundance from every place, but it (its people) denied the Favours of Allah (with ungratefulness). So Allah made it taste the extreme of hunger (famine) and fear, because of that (evil, i.e. denying Prophet Muhammad SAW) which they (its people) used to do.(112)
