തീര്ച്ചയായും, നീ അവര്ക്ക് പൊറുത്തുകൊടുക്കുവാന് വേണ്ടി ഞാന് അവരെ വിളിച്ചപ്പോഴൊക്കെയും അവര് അവരുടെ വിരലുകള് കാതുകളില് വെക്കുകയും, അവരുടെ വസ്ത്രങ്ങള് മൂടിപ്പുതക്കുകയും, അവര് ശഠിച്ചു നില്ക്കുകയും, കടുത്ത അഹങ്കാരം നടിക്കുകയുമാണ് ചെയ്തത്.(7)
(7) وَإِنِّي كُلَّمَا دَعَوْتُهُمْ لِتَغْفِرَ لَهُمْ جَعَلُوا أَصَابِعَهُمْ فِي آذَانِهِمْ وَاسْتَغْشَوْا ثِيَابَهُمْ وَأَصَرُّوا وَاسْتَكْبَرُوا اسْتِكْبَارًا
"And verily! Every time I called unto them that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, and persisted (in their refusal), and magnified themselves in pride.(7)
