നാം ദൃഷ്ടാന്തങ്ങള് അയക്കുന്നതിന് നമുക്ക് തടസ്സമായത് പൂര്വ്വികന്മാര് അത്തരം ദൃഷ്ടാന്തങ്ങളെ നിഷേധിച്ച് തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞു എന്നത് മാത്രമാണ്. നാം ഥമൂദ് സമുദായത്തിന് പ്രത്യക്ഷ ദൃഷ്ടാന്തമായിക്കൊണ്ട് ഒട്ടകത്തെ നല്കുകയുണ്ടായി. എന്നിട്ട് അവര് അതിന്റെ കാര്യത്തില് അക്രമം പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചു. ഭയപ്പെടുത്താന് മാത്രമാകുന്നു നാം ദൃഷ്ടാന്തങ്ങള് അയക്കുന്നത്.(59)
(59) وَمَا مَنَعَنَا أَنْ نُرْسِلَ بِالْآيَاتِ إِلَّا أَنْ كَذَّبَ بِهَا الْأَوَّلُونَ ۚ وَآتَيْنَا ثَمُودَ النَّاقَةَ مُبْصِرَةً فَظَلَمُوا بِهَا ۚ وَمَا نُرْسِلُ بِالْآيَاتِ إِلَّا تَخْوِيفًا
And nothing stops Us from sending the Ayat (proofs, evidences, signs) but that the people of old denied them. And We sent the she-camel to Thamud as a clear sign, but they did her wrong. And We sent not the signs except to warn, and to make them afraid (of destruction).(59)
